[His arms have remained crossed the entire time and from his expression, it doesn't seem like he will change his pose any time soon. He watches as his swordian decides to go ahead with his plan and despite his reservations he doesn't say a word to protest. He merely sighs and finally let's his arms drop at his sides as he moves closer.
It is childish. Really childish.]
I'm not so sure about this. [But no one is watching them. Still, it doesn't mean he should act so carefree.]
Chal. [He can't keep the exasperation out of his tone. It's difficult not to feel an overwhelming sense of discomfort, if the situation had been different things would not have gotten this far. Definitely not. Actually that not true. They would have been under the covers much faster with Leon leading the way there.
He is not going to escape. It's going to happen. Why is he doing this?
[ It may be awkward, their shoulders touching from huddling close together to fit under the sheets, but Chaltier seems to be enjoying it nonetheless. ]
[It's not quite the same as before, it feels cramped to him. Maybe if he closed his eyes. Yet even like this he knows it is different. With their shoulders touching he is well aware that Chal's form is different. He would try to concentrate on his voice.]
Chal, don't you think this is a little uncomfortable?
[ And the Swordian leans in closer still, all too eager to make up for lost years; yet, on the same token, his movements are slow, deliberate. He is acutely aware that Leon's childhood severely lacked any form of physical affection (if at all), and Chaltier has high hopes to make up for that now that circumstances allow for it.
Still, it does not change the fact that it is a bit cramped. ]
Maybe this doesn't work so well now that I'm human, right...
[It isn't exactly a welcomed closeness. It is after all unusual for him to have this kind of contact and he is well aware of it. Perhaps it is because they are slow movements that Leon does have time to react. It isn't fully voluntary, but he does inch away from Chal. His hand finds the edge of the bed and it is only then that he stops.]
Chal...
It isn't because of that. I did say I am no longer a child. I long lost interest in this kind thing.
[ His companion's discomfort apparent, Chaltier relents from any further prodding. Though he, more than anyone, understands Leon's aversion to this kind of contact, a part of him cannot help but to feel hurt by the reaction. ]
You're right, circumstances are different now. [ He bows his head. ] My apologies, Young Master.
[ It is obvious that Leon is making a compromise for his sake, and to say that Chaltier is rather touched by the sentiment would be an understatement. ]
Thank you! [ Sniff. ]
Ah, [ but still, this just will not do; the Swordian would rather his young master put himself first!!! ] perhaps we could try a different arrangement then? [ With that thought in mind, he moves to give him ample space by sliding out of the blanket and sitting at the edge of the bed instead. ]
[It leaves him feeling quite silly to be left alone under that blanket. He reaches up and shoves it aside. No one needs to be under a blanket but getting a glimpse of what Chal is up to leaves him wonder what the Swordian is up.]
[ And, just as Leon is about to relinquish it, Chaltier takes hold of the blanket to tuck him in, as if a parent tending to his or her child before bedtime – oddly suitable, given their assigned roles here. ]
[There is no struggle as Chal tucks him in, out of surprise but also because it is Chal. By no means does this indicate approval as he feels it is a tag early to be getting in bed.]
I'm not tired, maybe you're the one who needs to be under this blanket.
But I've been thinking lately that you are taking this a little too seriously.
[ Cut him some slack; Chaltier is over a thousand years old and it is past his bedtime okok. He just wants to make sure the young master is sleeping adequately. ]
Ehhh? No, see? [ He moves around a little. ] Plenty of space to sit.
[ That last comment does make him feel a little flustered though. ]
Perhaps, but I've been wanting to do this for a while now. I just wasn't able to before, right... [ ah, the limitations of being a sentient sword. ]
[Old people do need an early bed time after all or they fall asleep on you and start snoring! But he sees that Chal really wants this to work out. He could amuse him and stay under that blanket.]
Fine, fine.
That's true but you did enough. At least that is my believe. But I also think Chal can get to do more things than just this. Aren't there other things you wish to try out now that you can?
[ Says someone who used to wet the bed, right? Lying down together would be preferable indeed, but perhaps a little unfeasible. Either way, Chaltier does not want to push his luck at the risk of troubling Leon more than he has already. ]
You are too kind, Young Master. [ But the thought still haunts him – if only he had been able to do more, especially at that time... luckily, Leon's question keeps him from dwelling on it for too long. ] Ah, well... it would be nice to share the same sweets as the young master, and go watch a movie together in the cinema. And I would like to play in the cold snow when the weather changes and drink hot cocoa afterwards, and then enjoy a long soak in the hot springs as well. Going to the pool during the summer would be fun, too, right? Perhaps even—
[ ... and he continues to rattle off more still, that is, until Leon bothers to stop him. ]
[That's not fair! Don't ever mention that ever! Time is something they now have and it is what Leon needs to get completely use to this change. He understands Chal is still the same person yet his appearance is not something he can get accustomed to quickly. Leon is aware he must be the one to make an effort but perhaps today is not the day for that.
He stays quiet and listens for a while but the moment does come when he interjects before Chal can continue rambling on. There is no ill feeling towards it, where typically he would find such a thing annoying in anyone else, really he appreciates having Chal at his side once more.]
All those things sound like... something I imagined hearing from you. If you really want to do all those things I wouldn't stop you, of course.

[Really, why did Chal get the idea he wanted to do things like that. It seems that it doesn't matter how many times he explains that he is not child. And really he didn't want to experience the same things he went through last they visited hot springs together.]
I am not sure if it's a good idea for me to do that.
Why not? [ He wibbles, taking advantage of the fact that he can now give Leon puppy dog eyes (something that he has grown rather good at since his arrival at Holly Heights). Really, Chaltier suggested those things only because he wants the young master to have some fun! ]
[Sorry, Chal. He is immune to such tactics. Puppy dog eyes will never work on him. However it is because he is talking to Chal that he can be persuaded. He will only agree for Chal's sake and nothing more since the Swordian seems to have his heart set and he can't really make a good argument against those suggestions. At least not one that Chal would consider valid.]
