[If Leon had come across some self help book on his bed, things might have turned out terribly. Only because he would have assumed someone was trying to tell him in a subtle manner that there was something wrong with him.
That of course doesn't mean he isn't suspicious at first of finding something on his bed because Leon is sure he did not leave anything there earlier. He will stare at the pile of books before making the decision of having a closer look. That inspection has him discovering a note with just his name written neatly on it.
Yuri is certainly not responsible for this because he was sure Yuri hates him. Which is fine with him since he doesn't think too highly of the guy, or at least that's what he tells himself. So that only left Macau, right? Is he suppose to thank him? He'll just stand around the room pondering that. He now has a difficult decision to make.]

[At least his... roommate who has conveniently walked into the room is able to talk. He has come back from some unidentified place safe and sound. Upon seeing Leon, he smiles.]

He'll just mostly stay in one place. I only really take him out when it comes to cleaning the tank.

[The mystery of the books has been solved. Not that it was that big of a mystery. It did not take much thinking for him to realize who the books were from. After all he only ever mentioned them to Ion. He could appreciate the gesture but he isn't about to start thinking of it as being something friendly. That entailed things he would much rather avoid.]

[This too is going to the bottom of some drawer where it shall never see the light of day. At least it won't be lonely as Norma's letter is also there. Perhaps those two letters can become friends because Leon will not be friends with anyone. That would be according to what he says.]
